For times like that, a small sound system will take you where you want to be. You do not need a lot of power, or a lot of clarity – just a peddle, a mic, and some screaming tubes!

Then again, there are times when clarity is the only issue. With a church sound system, for example, you need every word to ring out with perfect balance. A lot of people make the mistake of getting PA systems for church preachers that are too trebly, but this is not right. You want the sound to be rich and full, not hissy and tinny. Too much high end, and the sound will be kind of hard to listen to.
